WHO WE ARE
Our strength is rooted not only in our words but, more importantly, in the actions we take through our initiatives. Since our inception in 1985 as Fuzzie Rescues in Brooklyn, and later in Long Island, NY, we recognized that collaboration allows us to tackle challenges more effectively. This understanding led to the launch of Soulful Warrior Rescue & Training in Rochester, NY. In 2024, we transitioned to Animal House Foundation in NY, where we established East Coast rescue In 2025. Our mission is to create a positive impact through advocacy, education, and outreach in all our animal endeavors. Growing up in Brooklyn, Jo Cahill the unfortunate reality of abandoned dogs at just age 16, she gained trust of many dumped dogs, trained them, and found them new homes. Her passion for animals inspired her to become a veterinary technician and assistant, and she dedicated her time to local shelters and rescue efforts. Alongside her family, she ran a ferret and reptile rescue in Long Island for six years. Jo pursued education in training and continues to collaborate with various trainers, shelters, and animal control. Chris Cahill has also dedicated his life to rescuing and rehoming cats. Their shared love for animals led them to establish We are excited to have opened an all-in-one aa dedicated rescue and animal facility featuring boarding, training, grooming, doggie daycare, and a private dog park set to open in spring 2026. This space allows dogs to run off-leash safely. Additionally, we will provide a pet pantry to support the community, along with adoption and fundraising events in partnership with local rescues and shelters. We are eager to participate in educational programs and firmly believe in the power of collaboration among rescues. In the future, we plan to offer low-cost spay/neuter/vaccine clinics and grants, including Mae's Mission for heartworm prevention, aimed at assisting low-income pet owners. Our mission is clear: to help dogs in need loving homes, rehabilitate those who require it, provide training, and ensure that medical care is accessible when necessary and education. Giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do.

She passed from HW
UPDATE: Unfortunately Mae did not make it through HW fast kill treatment, She passed in our arms today 12/14/23 at 3 AM. We are devastated. She was a true Warrior and fought thru being abused, starved and 2 blockages.
full of parasites and nails overgrown. Emaciated to 25 lbs. WE are collecting funds in her name to help other dogs going thru HW treatment in form of a grant. If you like to donate mark as Mae's Mission.
062823 She was lethargic and scared, She couldnt walk but 2 to 3 steps before collapsing. She was untrusting, barking, growling, was forced to eat tin foil a pair of gloves, styrofoam and anything else she could find in the streets. It took us 2.5 days to gain her trust. We brought her to ER vet for an IV and deworming. We then called Animal Control where she finished her Stray hold. We took custody of her July 5th 2023. We fed her our emaciation diet with good healthy organ meats and supplements so she can gain weight slowly and become healthy. We brought her to our Vet. She had xrays, blood work, vaccines... we found her to be HW pos Heavy load. Due to her weight being an issue we started slow HW treatment. She is now 61 lbs. yeah shes a little chubby now, lol. Blood work came back normal and perfect. We are now doing quik kill HW treatment as recommended by our vet. She will be spayed when she beats HW. She will be trained and adopted out in the next few months. This gal been thru alot. She beat death 3 times. Our goal for her is her being healthy, trained spayed and adopted into a loving family. We will always fight for dogs like Mae.
